Plagiocephaly
What is flat head syndrome?

Over 50% of babies will develop a flat spot on their head. Plagiocephaly, or flat head syndrome, occurs when one area of the skull becomes flattened, often due to prolonged time in one position or muscle imbalances. This is often the result of other muscle imbalances in the body, making it more difficult for babies to turn their head and relieve pressure on the flat spot.
Who is it for?
• Babies with noticeable flat spots on their head.
• Babies who favor turning their head to one side (or struggle to turn it at all).
• Parents who want to prevent flat spots from developing.
Services:
• Assessment of your baby’s head shape, neck mobility, and overall alignment.
• Comprehensive evaluation of head shape using Pediametirix cranial measurement system.
• A personalized plan to improve neck range of motion, balance muscle tightness, and encourage symmetrical movement patterns.
• Collaboration with other providers if helmet therapy is needed for optimal outcomes.
